Kuriki also plans to attempt a live webcast from the summit of Everest. He has previously attempted to summit Everest three times without success, making this his fourth try. Kuriki will depart Japan on August 26 and aims to broadcast live from the summit in early October.
Before departure, Kuriki expressed confidence, hoping that his climb will inspire viewers to pursue their dreams.
Kuriki fell from a Himalayan peak over 8,000 meters high this spring, sustaining multiple bruises, but is currently in good health. He said this may be his final challenge, but if weather and other conditions are favorable, reaching the summit is still possible.
