Guanshanguard and His Team Members
This tribute journey is a brand-new route in domestic automobile travel, designed and led by Guanshanguard. The team set off from Beijing on August 19 and traveled for 18 days, covering a total distance of 8,000 kilometers. Aside from one team member who withdrew midway due to severe altitude sickness, the others overcame the challenges of high altitude with strong willpower, completing the tasks of documenting the tribute journey through photos, text, and video. The team was greeted by dazzling rainbows on the Yushu grassland, witnessed magnificent sea of clouds at Dana Temple, miraculously saved a horse’s life by the Yalong River on the Shiqu grassland, and even conducted a ceremony for a giant vulture that had died accidentally in the Dege area.
On August 19, the team departed from Beijing and headed for Qinghai, starting from the Qinghai Lake at Riyue Mountain and venturing deep into the heart of the Qinghai-Tibet Plateau along the ancient Tang-Tibet Highway. Beginning at the mythological birthplace of King Gesar, they traveled through the glorious Kingdom of Ling established by him, and finally arrived at his actual birthplace. Along the way, they visited one of Tibet’s four sacred mountains, Mount Anyemaqen (completing a full kora around the mountain), the source of the Yellow River, the Yushu grassland, the legendary Dana Temple (widely recognized as the family temple of King Gesar), the Shiqu Sun Tribe, the mysterious Songge Mani Stone City in the grasslands, the world’s longest Bargain Mani Stone Wall, the Axu Grassland, and finally cleansed their journey’s dust at the New Luohai Lake in Dege.
During the plateau’s unpredictable rainy season, the equipment provided by the Osprey brand offered comprehensive support and protection for Guanshanguard’s team. The team members followed in the footsteps of King Gesar, experiencing the ups and downs, commemorating the legendary past, paying tribute to the spirit of a king, focusing on the natural environment, and immersing themselves in the rich cultural and geographical essence of the Tibetan Plateau. From this, they drew courage, fearlessness, and an optimistic spirit, integrating these qualities into their own lives.
