In November 2012, Green Field Outdoor Network officially announced that it had acquired the 6Foot website (www.foooooot.com) through a combination of cash and equity exchange.
Zhuo Guang, the original founder of 6Foot, will become the CEO of Green Field Outdoor Network.
Founded in 2009, 6Foot pioneered a map-based travelogue format to collect and showcase outdoor travel and self-guided trip routes, presenting text and photos in the most intuitive way. After three years of development, 6Foot has launched mobile apps for iOS, Android, and Windows Mobile platforms. With over 30,000 user-uploaded routes, it has become the domestic platform with the most original routes and the most popular among outdoor travel enthusiasts.
Green Field Outdoor Network is China’s longest-established and leading outdoor activity community and travel portal. The original Green Field team has accumulated extensive industry resources and outdoor expertise, along with strong offline execution capabilities. By integrating the 6Foot team, Green Field has significantly enhanced its information technology capabilities. The integrated 6Foot will continue to operate as Green Field’s outdoor technology brand.
Through this integration, Green Field has recently launched the “Green Field Activities” mobile app and the “Green Field Skiing Master” mobile app, and has begun planning to upgrade its existing website, with plans to roll out various products aimed at providing better services and user experiences for outdoor travel enthusiasts.
