On the morning of November 30, 2012, the "7th China Changbai Mountain Snow Culture Tourism Festival Opening Ceremony and the Inauguration of the Wanda Changbai Mountain International Resort Ski Resort" was officially launched. The event was jointly organized by the Jilin Provincial Tourism Bureau, the Changbai Mountain Administrative Committee, the Baishan Municipal Government, the Yanbian Prefectural Government, and the Wanda Group, and hosted by the Tourism Bureau of the Changbai Mountain Administrative Committee, the Baishan Municipal Tourism Bureau, the Fusong County Government, and the Wanda Changbai Mountain International Resort. Attendees included Chen Weigen, member of the Standing Committee of the Jilin Provincial Party Committee and Vice Governor, Tong Lixin, Deputy Director of the Winter Sports Management Center of the General Administration of Sport of China, and senior executives from Wanda Group including Executive Vice President Hu Zhanghong, Vice Presidents Sun Jiquan and Mo Yueming, as well as key domestic leaders, guests, representatives from major national travel agencies, renowned media, and skiing enthusiasts. Nearly a thousand tourists from across the country also participated in the grand opening ceremony.
During the ceremony, speeches were delivered by Peng Yonglin, Mayor of Baishan City, Xie Zhongyan, Director of the Changbai Mountain Administrative Committee, and Hu Zhanghong, Executive Vice President of Wanda Group. They all emphasized that the collaboration between the China Changbai Mountain Snow Culture Tourism Festival and the Wanda Changbai Mountain International Resort Ski Resort holds significant importance for promoting the dissemination and development of Changbai Mountain’s snow culture. Leaders from the Yanbian Prefectural Government presented 4S cards to tourism enterprises. Subsequently, Chen Weigen, member of the Standing Committee of the Jilin Provincial Party Committee and Vice Governor of the provincial government, announced the official launch of the "7th China Changbai Mountain Snow Culture Tourism Festival Opening Ceremony and the Grand Inauguration of the Wanda Changbai Mountain International Resort Ski Resort." Leaders present jointly participated in the ribbon-cutting ceremony for the ski resort. Additionally, a star-studded skiing team composed of world skiing champions Shen Xue, Zhao Hongbo, Han Xiaopeng, and Wang Chunlu initiated an exciting descent from the main peak of the ski resort, bringing the celebration to a thrilling climax.

After the ceremony, at the mountaintop restaurant on the main peak of the ski resort, the unveiling ceremony for the "Designated Training Base for China’s National Team in Freestyle Skiing Moguls and Snowboard Halfpipe Events" took place. With this, the Wanda Changbai Mountain International Resort Ski Resort has officially become a comprehensive international ski resort certified by the national sports authorities, qualified to host both domestic and international winter sports competitions.
