Let’s see how to get to Nakas Campsite:
Exit at the National Freeway 3 civilian interchange, head toward Jiji, pass Shuili Snake Kiln, and you’ll arrive at the entrance of the New Central Cross-Island Highway.

At the 19.5 km mark on Provincial Highway 16, prepare to turn left

The sign is very clear—please turn left (end of the concurrency of PH 16 & 21)

Head toward Heliping and Lidi Village—on the left, you’ll see Lidi Village. Turn right onto Heliping, and it’s about 500 meters to the site.

It’s right by the road with a clear sign—very easy to find. Turn left to enter the campsite.

Crisp, cool summer fun—want to enjoy some?

We actually spent two days on this camping holiday. As soon as you enter the gate, the landscape café under construction is on the left, and the path going uphill on the right leads to the campsite. Let’s start with the lowest-level Jun She area.

Located above the splash pad, the Jun She community is the block closest to the recreation area.

The campsite grass is currently under maintenance; all water-accumulating areas have been covered with gravel.

Safety measures are also well implemented, with all railings completed (the parking area is right at the campsite entrance, so it’s not difficult to park).

There are two sinks.

The second area is the Ka She community.

This is a very private block (you can pitch your tent near the entrance where there’s shade), and it’s the closest area to the restroom. The gravel-grass surface is fairly level.

Only two tents are allowed in this area, XD. There is one sink.

Going further up, you’ll see signs for the other three campsite areas.

On the right is the largest area, the Luan She.

The Luan She campsite can accommodate about six tents.

There’s no fancy Brazilian carpet-like grass here, just gravel ground with excellent drainage.

Not many campers come here, so setting up a tarp under the trees is the best choice.

Isn’t it great? You also get to enjoy the view.

The slope leads to the first-level Jun She community and can also serve as a parking space.

The campsite has waterproof electrical switchboxes for safe and convenient power use, and low-level lighting is installed along every pathway in the campsite.

At an altitude of about 500 meters, the nighttime temperature at the Nakas campsite in summer is around 22–24 degrees Celsius.

Night camping means you don’t have to set up under the sun—lately, I’ve gotten really into night camping, and it’s amazing.

On the second night, I invited Uncle Xiao Li to come hang out at the campsite, haha.

Let’s check out the Zhuo She community.

It’s a long, narrow terrain area. The entrance is probably for parking.

There’s a waterproof electrical box, which is quite safe.

The last area is the Dan She community.

This block is the “throne area.” Although it’s farther from the restrooms, the view is absolutely stunning.

Plus, there’s tree shade for cover, so it’s perfect for campers who like to sleep in.

Photo was taken at 9:30 AM, and the shade was still there.

The official site says it’s a three-tent exclusive area, but this section is quite large, so solo campers are welcome too.

There’s a sink for washing dishes.

Campers from Chiayi and Taichung pitched their tents in this area.

Just sitting here enjoying the view and relaxing wiped away all the fatigue from the week.

Of course, I took a shot—even the tent tucked under the tree had to be photographed (a fellow camper told me this one’s been used four times and needs replacing XD)

Paired with the night view of the Shuanglong Tribe across the way, it’s like scattered starlight—pretty nice. Now, here’s the highlight: the restroom area definitely deserves a quick look too, right?

Thoughtfully hung hooks on the log walls, and the toilet has no odor～ (squat toilet)

Men-only (very clean—the camp owner’s son keeps it well-maintained); another major attraction at Nakes Camp is the Dama Luan Cultural Arts Troupe, hosted by the camp owner. Located near the alley in Dili Village, it’s really worth watching. Start from the campsite and slowly make your way into the tribal village of Dili.

It’s rare to see two churches in the same tribe.

Naturally, come lunchtime, Up prioritizes eating out to support the local tribal economy.

Even if it’s just a bowl of noodles

Plus a side dish, it’s more than enough.

Finally, we arrived at this trip’s destination—the camp owner’s home, which is also where the cultural troupe is based.

Highly recommended to all camping friends—Dama Luan Tribe is truly wonderful and profound (in Dili Village). Coming to Fengqiu Village in Xinyi Township, check out the recently super-popular super-long waterslide.

Shuttle service is available at the start point, so no need to hike up. Waterslide entrance (Wugaozan, right?)

The moment your feet touch down, you’re speeding downhill all the way

Recently, I’ve been shooting waterfalls a lot. This time, let me share Xinyi Township’s famous Rainbow Waterfall.

Along the path to Rainbow Waterfall, you can enjoy fresh, chilled aiyu jelly

Rainbow Suspension Bridge is about ten minutes from this waterfall

Along the way, you’ll pass smaller waterfalls

Naturally, Up also took some shots by the stream, haha

The water below isn’t very deep—only about waist-high. Shortly after passing the small waterfall, you’ll reach the day’s destination: Rainbow Waterfall.

This time, I was really lucky because it’s currently the wet season, so the waterfall has a strong flow.

No matter how you shoot it, it’s stunning. Want to visit too?

Actually, if you walk up slowly from the hot spring homestay at the source, it’s only about a 30-minute hike—not far at all. A beautiful waterfall, but there are far fewer tourists than before.
