The Tor des Géants takes place in the northwestern Alps of Italy, passing through four of Italy’s highest peaks: Mont Blanc (4,807m), Rosa dei Banchi (4,637m), Cervino (4,478m), and Gran Paradiso (4,061m). The course spans 330 kilometers with a total elevation gain of 24,000 meters, crossing 25 mountain passes. The 150-hour cutoff time is part of what makes the Tor des Géants so captivating.
In the 2012 Tor des Géants, Chinese runners Gao Qing, Wang Zichen, Yang Jianguo, and Yu Lei demonstrated with their outstanding performances that Chinese athletes can achieve remarkable results in such top-tier international trail running events.
As a sponsor of the event, Tecnica will continue to secure “benefits” for Chinese runners this year, enabling them to once again take the stage at the Tor des Géants. On the 2013 course, we will see Zeng Huafeng (@HuangchengV), representing Tecnica China in the Tor des Géants race. He has also joined the Tecnica China Trail Running Team (TTT), fighting alongside Wang Zichen, Wang Daqing, Wang Yan, and Wang Qian.
Zeng Huafeng, online alias “Huangcheng,” is a reporter for People’s Daily, a master's graduate from Peking University, a member of the China Writers Association, a columnist for China Sports Illustrated, an expert at Yipao.com, a national second-class marathon athlete, and the 7th-place finisher in the TNF 100 Beijing International Trail Race. He is now a member of the Tecnica China Trail Running Team (TTT).
