Detailed Guide to Parallel Turns:

  1. Straighten both knees diagonally upward toward the direction of the turnRise up and shift your weight, lifting your center of gravity upward; until the bases of both skis are fully in contact with the snow, at which point your body is essentially upright on the skis, with your weight centered (still moving in the diagonal skiing direction);  

  2. Lean your body toward the leg that is closer to the center point of the turn, shifting your weight onto this leg while also turning your hipstoward the center of the turn;  

    3, then immediately start by bending the inside knee upward toward the mountain to lower your center of gravity, which causes theinside foot(the uphill foot)to edge the ski sideways (the inside leg initiates the edge engagement), while the outside leg naturally follows with edge engagement,and the heel of the outside foot presses sideways on the ski to bring in the tail of the ski(the carving process), when both skis are aligned in the direction of diagonal descent, your center of gravity is at its lowest;

    4, prepare for the next turn;
