Parallel Improvement Course for Beginner Skiers:
Target Audience:
Those who have been snowploughing for a long time and can freely control their skiing on most beginner to intermediate slopes. Not afraid of simple advanced slopes. Or those who think they are skiing parallel but others still notice some snowplough elements in their movements.
Session 1: January 24, 2013 (Thursday) Night session: 17:30---21:00

Key Teaching Points:
How to eliminate small snowploughs when entering turns. How to improve inner leg rotation.
Learning Outcomes:

Advanced Ski Technique Improvement Course:
This course is designed for advanced skiers who love powder snow. Through three progressive sessions (parallel turn practice, mogul technique practice, and powder skiing practice), participants will achieve smooth, fluid powder skiing. Each of the three stages targets specific skills, allowing skiers to choose individual modules based on their current level and goals, or enroll in the full program.

Target Audience:
Skiers who can already ski parallel, controlling turn size freely and skiing both wide and medium turns.

Achieve effortless carving using the lower legs for safe and efficient turns.

Phase 2 Teaching Focus: Mogul Basics: Transitioning from Small Turns to Moguls
Target Audience:
Skiers who can already ski parallel, controlling turn size freely and skiing wide, medium, and small turns.
Learning Outcomes:
Improve the fluidity of small turns and begin to explore mogul terrain with confidence and enjoyment.

Advanced slope at Wanlong Bayi Ski Resort: Yuelong Slope
Phase 3 Teaching Focus: Mogul Advancement and Powder Introduction: From Jumping to Absorption
Target Audience:
Skiers who can already ski parallel, freely control turn size, and execute both large, medium, and small turns. Those who are beginning to challenge moguls or have already mastered small turns, and now wish to tackle more challenging uneven terrain, moguls, or powder snow using their small turn technique.
Learning Outcomes:
Learn to initiate the next turn using the pole plant and extension movement, even on uneven terrain. Adjust your body’s fore-aft position through pole plant and extension, even on uneven terrain. Extension movements include both upward and downward actions. Use downward extension to absorb bumps and powder.

Wang Chen's Profile:
Education: Master’s degree from the Institute of Automation, Chinese Academy of Sciences
Professional Background:
In 2010, obtained NZSIA (New Zealand Ski Instructors Alliance) Level 1 and 2 alpine skiing instructor qualifications.
In 2012, obtained NZSIA children’s teaching qualification.
Originally, his academic background and career plans had no relation to the skiing industry. Since being introduced to “white gold” in 2003, he became hooked, later describing himself as having started another journey with snow due to being “too addicted,” and turning it into his profession. He went to New Zealand alone to study and train in professional skiing techniques and earned his certification. He has taught at Yuyang Ski Resort, Wanlong Ski Resort, and New Zealand’s Coronet Peak Ski Resort. From 2010–2011, he worked as a ski instructor at Club Med Sahoro Resort in Japan. In the summer of 2011, he taught at Perisher Ski Resort in Australia. From 2011–2012, he served as Vice Principal of the Ski School at Club Med in the Yabuli Resort. Since 2012, he has been the Principal of the Ski School at Beijing Wanlong Bayi Ski Resort.
