Travel Center / Comprehensive Report
Due to the common superstition in Eastern cultures that rhino horns have medicinal properties, on average, a white rhino is mercilessly poached by poachers every eight hours. To date, there are only around 20,000 white rhinos left in the world, which have long been under the threat of poaching, and as a result, they are listed as one of the internationally protected animals. The Chuang-Fu Cultural and Educational Foundation under Shifu Group is calling for volunteers to travel to South Africa, go deep into local wildlife national parks, experience the rescue and care of wild animals firsthand, understand the natural ecological culture of animals and humans coexisting, and bring back the seeds of wildlife conservation to Taiwan.
Hotels and restaurants under Shifu Tourism Group have fully implemented the policy of “no shark fin, reject white rhino products.” The “Chuang-Fu Cultural and Educational Foundation” and Shoufu Theme Park have successfully bred up to 18 white rhinos in the park to date. In 2015, they first visited South Africa and signed a memorandum of cooperation with South Africa’s Care for Wild Rhino Sanctuary, joining hands to contribute to the conservation of white rhinos. They hope to advocate for the survival rights of wild animals through both rescue and breeding efforts.
This year, they hope to rally friends who are passionate about rhino ecological conservation to become “Rhino Hope Ambassadors” and head to South Africa together. From now until September 10, simply sign up online (www.chuangfoo.org) to speak up for rhino lives and advocate for wildlife conservation.
