A new study has found that glaciers in the Andes Mountains of South America have shrunk by nearly 50% over the past 40 years.
The study predicts that most of the Andes glaciers may melt away entirely.
Researchers attribute this phenomenon to global warming, with the Earth's temperature rising by 0.7 degrees Celsius, calling it an unprecedented glacier crisis.
Additionally, according to some scientists, the Chacaltaya Glacier in the South American country of Bolivia has completely disappeared; it was once a famous ski resort.
