Yet another Japanese tonkatsu restaurant is set to open a branch in Taiwan.“Maisen Tonkatsu,” a must-visit pilgrimage spot in Tokyo’s Omotesando and reputed to serve the best tonkatsu in the entire city,is making its debut in Taiwan. Its first Taiwanese outlet is scheduled to open on October 20 on the 7th floor of Taipei’s ShinYi XinTianDi A9. Beloved by both locals and tourists for its crispy exterior and tender interior, Maisen’s tonkatsu is expected to draw large crowds eager for a first taste.

Shin Kong Mitsukoshi ShinYi XinTianDi has been actively expanding its food offerings lately, having also invited British celebrity chef Jamie Oliver’s Italian restaurant Jamie’s Italian to launch in Taiwan (scheduled for November opening), alongside other exclusive brands such as “Zenka Sōin” permanent store (opening September 2), and the pan-fried dumpling specialty chain “DaiBo Wang Jiang” (opening September 29). Other food brands such as “Aji no Kansei 2nd Shop” and the second branch of “nana’s green tea” will also be opening successively at Shin Kong Mitsukoshi ShinYi XinTianDi.
