Vietjet launches Taipei–Hanoi route on October 30, opens Kaohsiung–Ho Chi Minh route in December

Vietjet Air announced that it will launch the Taipei–Hanoi route on October 30, increase the frequency of the Tainan–Ho Chi Minh City route to five flights per week, and commence the Kaohsiung–Ho Chi Minh City round-trip route on December 12. By the end of 2016, Vietjet will operate four routes between Taiwan and Vietnam. Ticket prices for the Taipei–Hanoi and Kaohsiung–Ho Chi Minh City routes start from NT$448 and NT$288, respectively.

The newly launched Taipei–Hanoi round-trip route, with a one-way flight time of 2 hours and 45 minutes, will operate daily. The outbound flight departs from Taoyuan Airport at 7:00 p.m. and arrives in Hanoi at 8:45 p.m.; the return flight departs from Hanoi at 2:15 p.m. and arrives in Taoyuan at 6:00 p.m.

The Kaohsiung–Ho Chi Minh City round-trip route, opening at the end of the year, has a one-way flight time of 3 hours and 30 minutes and will operate on Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays, Fridays, and Sundays. The outbound flight departs from Taoyuan Airport at 8:15 a.m. and arrives in Ho Chi Minh City at 10:45 a.m.; the return flight departs from Ho Chi Minh City at 2:10 a.m. and arrives in Taoyuan at 6:30 a.m.

Nguyen Thi Thuy Binh, Vice President of Vietjet, stated that since the launch of the Taipei–Ho Chi Minh City route in December 2014, the airline expects to operate nearly 1,300 flights and carry over 173,700 passengers by the end of August this year.
