Climb Upward, China—the Grand Finale of the 2018 China Famous Mountains Race
Held Successfully at Pingtian Mountain, Guigang, Guangxi
In the golden autumn of October, over 2,000 mountaineers from across China and 11 other countries converged on Pingtian Mountain National Forest Park on the outskirts of Guigang City, which sits at an elevation of 1,157.8 meters. They came to compete in the grand finale event: Climb Upward, China—the 2018 China Famous Mountains Race.
It is reported that Guigang is making every effort to build itself into a smart city, and its sports tourism industry is thriving. With a full calendar of seasonal events—spring marathon, summer lotus exhibitions, autumn mountain races, and winter rapeseed flower festivals—this city with a history of over 2,000 years, known as "China’s Number One Lotus City," has been revitalized.
