The Spring Festival golden week has ended, but the joy of holiday travel remains. Many citizens avoid the travel rush and opt for a post-holiday "bargain trip," enjoying a better travel experience at lower prices. It is reported that outbound travel ranks first on the "travel popularity list," accounting for 42.63% and up about 7 percentage points compared to the same period last year.
Data from a travel website shows that after the "golden week," prices for popular destinations have dropped significantly. For example, the "Phuket-PP Island 4 Nights 6 Days Self-Guided Tour" departing from Xi'an during the Spring Festival cost around 7,500 yuan, but afterward, it’s only about 3,400 yuan—a drop of over half. Similar to outbound travel, domestic travel prices have also decreased. For instance, the "Xishuangbanna-Kunming-Dali-Lijiang Four-Flight 9-Day Tour" departing from Xi'an was about 4,300 yuan during the holiday, but afterward, it’s just 2,600 yuan, a 39.53% decrease. In addition, prices in popular cities such as Hainan and Xiamen have also been falling steadily.
After the Spring Festival, when traveling, reporters visited various travel agencies and found that citizens are particularly fond of outbound travel, with Europe being the most popular destination.
According to monitoring data from Tuniu Travel Network, during the golden week, 42.63% of Xi'an citizens chose outbound travel, nearly 7 percentage points higher than last year’s 35.5%. Among long-distance domestic travel destinations, Hainan ranked first with 37.23%, and 80% of citizens opted for self-guided tours. In addition, many citizens who did not want to travel far from home during the Spring Festival chose nearby trips. Of these, 91.23% joined group tours, while the remaining 8.77% chose road trips to celebrate the holiday.

16,000 inbound and outbound passengers during Spring Festival
Reporters learned yesterday that during the Spring Festival golden week, Xi'an Customs supervised 166 inbound and outbound flights and processed 16,274 inbound and outbound passengers, increases of 12.2% and 64.4% respectively compared to 2012.
It is understood that in response to the rapid increase in the number of inbound and outbound flights and passengers during the holiday period, Xi'an Customs activated a holiday customs clearance emergency plan, rationally allocated human resources, and ensured smooth passenger clearance. A total of 16,274 inbound and outbound passengers were processed during the Spring Festival golden week.
It is reported that during the Spring Festival golden week, Xi'an Customs worked overtime to review and release 149 customs declaration forms, supervised 5,512 inbound and outbound mails, and processed 1,576 EMS express parcels.
