“I dreamed of her for ten years, prepared for a year to conquer her, spent a month on the ice, and climbed for a week on the rock face. Now, we have finally conquered her!” Leo Houlding said after conquering Antarctica’s Ulvetanna Peak. Sponsored by the British outdoor brand Berghaus, he and his team set off for Antarctica in late December 2012 and successfully reached the summit on January 23, climbing the northeast ridge route of Antarctica’s Ulvetanna Peak. Ulvetanna means “wolf’s tooth” in Norwegian.

It is reported that besides aiming to conquer Ulvetanna, Leo and his team were also tasked with testing Berghaus’s new range of extreme gear. Over the previous year of preparation, Berghaus had continuously improved and tested equipment suitable for extreme environments for Leo and his team. The hands-on experience of conquering Ulvetanna is expected to further enhance the quality and functionality of the gear.
