Jointly initiated by ISPO BEIJING and Beijing Seno International Culture Co., Ltd., the Beijing Winter Running Carnival has been held twice. As the first domestic platform for the exchange of trail running culture and concepts, the Beijing Winter Running Carnival introduces representative Chinese trail runners and events to the public through guest sharing sessions, enabling more people to learn about and participate in trail running.
During the 2013 ISPO BEIJING exhibition, the Beijing Winter Running Carnival will be renamed the "Endurance Sports Festival (Endurance Festivals)" — endurance sports are an effective way to maintain overall physical and mental health and represent the most essential and fundamental form of outdoor activity. Closely related endurance sports include: marathon, trail running, mountaineering, swimming, cycling, triathlon, ski mountaineering, rowing, and all activities involving distance and time.
The "Endurance Sports Festival," jointly initiated by Seno Communications and Yuesu Sports, will be a brand-new platform for the display, dissemination, and exchange of endurance sports culture, knowledge, and concepts, and will continuously introduce the latest global endurance sports activities and formats.
At the first season of the "Endurance Sports Festival" on February 28, 2013, Vibram, the world's leading supplier of high-performance rubber soles, will co-host the China premiere of the trail running film "Ordinary People Being Extraordinary" with the festival. This film, which has won awards at multiple film festivals including the 2012 Trento Mountain Film Festival in Italy, documents the entire journey of the 2011 Vibram UTMB Extraordinary Team during the Ultra-Trail du Mont-Blanc. It will offer visual feast for trail running enthusiasts who embrace the spirit of outdoor adventure and the pursuit of pushing limits. In addition, a series of engaging sharing sessions and video events will be presented, including showcases of new endurance sports formats such as the Red Bull 400 Challenge. Endurance sports icon Chen Penbin will serve as the ambassador of the "Endurance Sports Festival," sharing his experience of completing the Seven Continents Grand Slam for the first time. A specially produced video featuring seven extreme endurance races will also be screened on-site.
