164 Visa-Free Countries!\tTaiwan Passport Ranks 29th Globally, Germany Takes 1st Place

Do you think Taiwan’s passport is convenient? According to a recent survey, Taiwan’s passport allows visa-free entry to 164 countries, ranking 29th in the world—down one spot from last year. Meanwhile, the German passport, which permits visa-free travel to 173 countries, ranks No. 1 globally.

According to Central News Agency, immigration consulting firm Henley & Partners has conducted the Global Passport Index since 2006. The German passport is ranked as the most powerful in the world, followed by Sweden in second place. Finland, France, Italy, Spain, and the UK share third place. In the Asia-Pacific region, citizens of Japan and Singapore can visit 173 countries visa-free, ranking fifth globally and making them the most powerful passports in the Asia-Pacific. As for China’s passport, it ranks 87th, an improvement from 93rd in 2015.
