University students in Tainan get perks for taking buses—ride 20 times for a chance to win great prizes in a lucky draw!

To encourage university students to use public transportation more often, the Tainan City Government has launched a lucky draw campaign titled “University Students? Take the Bus in Tainan.” From now until October 24, students who take the bus 20 times are eligible to win prizes such as laptops, digital cameras, and nano-ion hair dryers. The top 6 students with the most rides will also receive extra gifts.

Zhang Zhengyuan, Director of the Tainan Transportation Bureau, stated that among the traffic fatalities in Tainan in 2015, 19 were young people aged 18–24 who were riding motorcycles. To reduce traffic casualties among university students, the Ministry of Transportation has proactively adjusted bus routes to bring them onto campuses and created a Facebook page titled “University Students? Take the Bus in Tainan,” providing customized bus route information for the 18 universities and colleges in Tainan. In addition, a major lucky draw event for taking the bus has been held.All students need to do is register their electronic ticket card number online and take the bus 20 times before October 24 to qualify for the draw.
