Italian Tecnica China announced the members of the 2013 Tecnica Trail Running Team (Tecnica Trail Running Team, abbreviated as TTT) at ISPO BEIJING 2013 Asia Outdoor & Sports Trade Show on March 1, and also released the list of four athletes organized by Tecnica to participate in this year's "Tor des Géants."
The athletes of our Tecnica Trail Running Team (TTT) are all elites in domestic marathon and trail running. In addition to Wang Zichen, Wang Yan, Wang Qian, and Aobaba, Zeng Huafeng (Desolate City), who has newly joined the TTT team this year, is also a renowned figure in the running community. His addition gives us even more confidence that our team will achieve better results this year. Key domestic and international events such as the Tor des Géants (TDG), TNF 100, Beijing Marathon, and Dalian 100 Ultra Trail will all be part of this year’s schedule for the Tecnica Trail Running Team members.
The Tecnica Trail Running Team (Tecnica China Trail Running Team) was established in 2010, co-sponsored by the Asia Outdoor & Sports Trade Show (ISPO BEIJING) and MICO, a functional sportswear brand from Italy. This year, there is an additional heavyweight sponsor — Actionfox (Happy Fox), an internationally known outdoor hat and sunglasses brand. "Sexy + Dynamic" is the brand positioning given by Actionfox. Actionfox has always advocated a lifestyle of professional and fashionable outdoor activities. This collaboration with Tecnica aims to vigorously promote trail running in China and encourage more outdoor enthusiasts to join the sport.
At the same time, the athletes participating in the 2013 "Tor des Géants" were also announced at the press conference on March 1. After nearly one month of recruitment and selection, we have chosen Zeng Huafeng (Desolate City V), Wang Daqing (Aobaba), Jin Feibao (Jin Feibao Traveling the World), and Chen Shuwen (Power42195) to represent the Tecnica China Trail Running Team (TTT) in this year’s 330-kilometer iconic ultra-trail event — the Tor des Géants, which will be held in Italy in September. This marks the second time Chinese athletes are participating in the "Tor des Géants" following last year, and we hope everyone will achieve better results in this race.
The "Tor des Géants" takes place in the mountainous region of northern Italy, near the Rhône-Alpes area of France. This area is entirely mountainous and is a paradise for nature, skiing, trekking, and mountaineering enthusiasts. The four highest peaks in Italy — Mont Blanc (4,807m), Monte Rosa (4,637m), Cervino (4,478m), and Gran Paradiso (4,061m) — lie alongside the race course. As one of the world’s top ultra-trail events, the Tor des Géants is holding its fourth edition this year. The course spans 330 kilometers, with a total elevation gain of 24,000 meters, crossing 25 mountain passes, and has a 150-hour cutoff. Last year, there were only 550 global slots available for participants.
From now until September this year, the selected athletes will have ample time to engage in systematic trail running training for this competition. We will also organize monthly trail running sessions led by members of the Tecnica China Trail Running Team (TTT). We hope to integrate trail running into everyone’s lives and actively promote the development of trail running in China.
