As the sister show of Eurobike in Asia, the Asia Bike Show has shown strong growth momentum in 2013, with nearly 300 high-end bicycle, cycling apparel, and accessory brands having confirmed their participation. It is reported that this year the indoor exhibition area will cover 26,000 square meters, and the outdoor area 10,000 square meters, marking an increase of over 50% compared to 2012.
Renowned international brands such as SHIMANO, LOOK, BH, BMC, cervélo, FOCUS, AUTHOR, SPECIALIZED, corratec, HAIBIKE, bergamont, tern, cannondale, PINARELLO, and Bianchi all plan to launch new products at the show.
“A new highlight of the 2013 Asia Bike Show is the ‘Experience Day’ to be held on October 9 at Purple Mountain in Nanjing. Well-known domestic and international sport and premium bicycle brands will showcase their 2014 new products at this experience event. Our European partner, Eurobike, will provide guidance for this activity,” said Mr. Jaeger, consultant for the Asia Bike Show, noting that both the organizers and exhibitors attach great importance to this event this year.

The sports bicycle market has become another rapidly growing sector in China following the outdoor gear market. Currently, the annual growth rate of the sports bicycle sector has reached 30%, and the number of sports bicycle dealers and retail outlets has doubled over the past two years. Media reports have noted, “In China, cycling has become another symbol of wealth and health.”
The Nanjing municipal government previously announced good news that Nanjing is striving to become the third city in the world, after Melbourne and Copenhagen, to be designated a “Bicycle City” by the Union Cycliste Internationale by 2020. Currently, the Nanjing Cycling Association has been established and is working with the municipal government to plan and build five major cycling routes and 1,000 kilometers of urban greenways.
