In the chilly March weather, the large-scale public welfare event—the 12th stop of the Qing Shan Action “Searching for Green at Da Jue Temple,” hosted by Orion Outdoor Theme Shopping Mall—achieved great success with the active cooperation of Green Field Network. From April 2012 to March 2013, the Qing Shan Action, in partnership with Green Field Network, engaged numerous outdoor enthusiasts in a monthly effort to clean up litter along hiking trails around Beijing, protecting the environment and restoring the natural beauty of the green hills.
This event marked the 12th stop of the [Orion] Qing Shan Action. Through the previous eleven stops focused on trash collection, more and more outdoor enthusiasts have come to understand and join our environmental protection efforts. The activity not only helps to enhance participants' environmental awareness but also influences those around them—because protecting the environment starts with small actions in daily life.
On March 23, despite the sudden heavy snowfall and sharp temperature drop in Beijing over the prior two days, coupled with winds of force 5 to 6, none of these could deter the environmentally conscious hikers. By 9 a.m., three environmental protection teams totaling over 150 people had gathered early under the memorial archway at the entrance of the Summer Palace.

The action was successfully concluded at 5 p.m., with team members gathering at the foot of the mountain.
By 5 p.m., team members had gradually assembled at the foot of the mountain. Despite the strong winds, steep and slippery terrain, these challenges highlighted the spirit of unity and mutual support among the participants. This event also marked the final stop of the first season of the “Qing Shan Action.” In April 2013, the new season of the “Qing Shan Action” will continue, featuring more diverse forms of environmental initiatives, more themes, and greater participation. We hope the “Qing Shan Action” will inspire even more people to take part in protecting our nature.
