In July 2012, American premium bicycle brands Cannondale and GT entered the Chinese market, focusing on the high-end bicycle sector. It is reported that Cannondale and GT will present their 2014 new products at the 2013 Asia Bike Show in Nanjing in October, occupying an exhibition space of 225 square meters. This will be their first public showcase in the Chinese market.
The American CSG Group has entered the Chinese market directly, abandoning its previous approach of using a Chinese general agent. This move aims not only to make it more convenient for Chinese consumers to purchase world-class bicycle products but also to provide them with higher-quality services. CSG’s brands, Cannondale and GT, are both globally renowned top-tier bicycle brands. Cannondale is best known for being lightweight, featuring unique patented designs, and being expensive—its frames are all handcrafted by workers in U.S. factories. Cannondale models equipped with the Lefty fork are hailed as “the world’s most unique bicycles” and are highly praised by cycling enthusiasts. Cannondale’s aluminum road bike frame, the CAAD9, is reputed as the “king of aluminum frames” and has been used by teams in all three Grand Tours of cycling.
