Focusing primarily on rescue drills, the conference aimed to expand exchanges and raise awareness of mountain rescue efforts.
The four-day Fifth National Conference on Mountain Accident Investigations and Rescue Technology Training concluded on March 6 in Shenzhen. The event was jointly organized by the Mountaineering Sports Management Center of the General Administration of Sport of China, the Emergency Management Office of the Shenzhen Municipal Government, and the Shenzhen One Foundation Public Welfare Foundation, and was hosted by the One Foundation Rescue Alliance and the Shenzhen Mountaineering and Outdoor Sports Association. A total of 81 leaders, key personnel, and technical experts from 44 mountain and outdoor rescue organizations across 19 provinces and municipalities participated. The conference was divided into two parts: specialized lectures and rescue technology training, covering a wide range of new and diverse topics.
Li Zhixin, Executive Vice President of the Chinese Mountaineering Association, pointed out that mountain rescue work has become a key focus within the overall development planning of mountaineering and outdoor sports. The Chinese Mountaineering Association will follow the guiding principle of government leadership, local rescue organizations as the main body, and broad social participation to gradually establish a collaborative working mechanism involving government, rescue organizations, and volunteers. With base construction and training as the central focus, a regional mountain rescue system will be established; rescue drills will serve as the primary form to expand exchanges and enhance the visibility of mountain rescue efforts, clarify the necessity and urgency of mountain rescue work, and effectively improve the management and supervision mechanism of “service, guidance, and regulation,” ushering mountain and outdoor rescue work into a new stage of efficient development.
