As a provincial-level scenic area, Gypsum Mountain is hosting its first international photography competition. The launch ceremony, along with the plaque-unveiling ceremony for the Gypsum Mountain Creative Base of the China Artistic Photography Society and the Beijing Photographic Art Association of China, was held on October 14, 2012, at Gypsum Mountain in Lingshi, Shanxi. This photography competition is a highly professional and authoritative international event jointly organized by the China Artistic Photography Society, the Beijing Photographic Art Association, and the Shanxi Photographers Association.
According to the organizers, the competition will run for nine months, covering the four seasons of autumn, winter, spring, and summer at Gypsum Mountain, providing photographers with an exceptional opportunity to comprehensively capture the mountain’s landscape beauty through their lenses. It is quite rare, both domestically and internationally, to have a photography contest spanning such a long time period.

Each contestant (registered user) may submit 15–20 photographic works, which should be uploaded for display with individual file sizes between 800K and 1M.
