After the official launch of preparatory work for the 2013 (4th) China Footwear & Apparel Industry E-Commerce Summit, it has garnered attention from industry insiders and multiple media outlets. According to the summit organizing committee, in addition to the previously confirmed participation of Dangdang.com CEO Li Guoqing, Xtep President Ding Shuibao, Septwolves Chairman Zhou Shaoxiong, and Taoxie.com Chairman Wang Dongzhu in the main forum discussions on e-commerce, Anta Chairman Ding Shizhong, Tmall President Xiaoyaozi, and several key provincial and municipal leaders will also attend this session, further elevating the summit’s specifications to rival a “gathering of a thousand entrepreneurs.” In addition, the summit has also attracted the joint attention of industry leaders such as Jack Ma and various media outlets.

On March 14, Jack Ma, who had just stepped down as CEO of Alibaba, appeared in Xiamen, sparking numerous discussions within the Minnan e-commerce circle. Earlier, the 417 Summit organizing committee had revealed that there would definitely be a mysterious guest making an appearance, and Jack Ma—who had pledged full support for the development of Minnan e-commerce with Taoxie.com Chairman Wang Dongzhu—sparked industry speculation about whether he would attend the summit. Beyond the attention of industry leaders, Quanzhou’s most authoritative newspaper—the Quanzhou Evening News—also launched a special column titled “Focus on the China Footwear & Apparel Industry E-Commerce Summit,” publishing articles on the front page of its economic news section on March 20 and 27, giving full recognition to the summit’s high specifications, professional standards, and its role in advancing the e-commerce development of local brands.

As the summit enters the countdown phase, its high specifications have also ignited growing enthusiasm among those in the footwear, apparel, and e-commerce industries eager to attend. According to the organizing committee, the expected number of attendees for this summit is 1,400. With a unified low ticket price of 200 RMB, the first batch of nearly 600 tickets has nearly sold out since ticket sales officially began. Currently, there are very few remaining spots available. Starting April 2, the price of the second batch of limited tickets will be increased to 400 RMB.

“The more than 30 high-quality speakers at the summit are what we value the most. They bring advanced concepts from leading enterprises and successful experiences in brand e-commerce operations. Through the sharing of insights and practical knowledge, we can learn a lot, and such a platform also gives us the opportunity to network with more peers,” said Gu Suhua, Brand Operations Director of Reis. At this summit, Reis will have six brand representatives attending. Li & Fung Supply Chain Management (China) Co., Ltd. has confirmed seven attendees; Putian E-Commerce Investment Management Co., Ltd. (Maimai Shoes) has also confirmed seven attendees... In addition, e-commerce heads from numerous brands such as Peak, ERKE, ZERO, GEMEIQI, and Horseway have actively purchased tickets to attend the summit, fully recognizing its value.

For students on campus, their intention to attend is even more straightforward. A junior majoring in e-commerce from the E-Commerce Association of Huaqiao University said: “So many influential figures, whom we could previously only see on TV, in newspapers, or online, are coming to the summit. We’re very willing to attend to witness their presence firsthand, broaden our horizons, and gain some insight. It also helps strengthen our confidence in pursuing a future career in e-commerce.” It is reported that, for the student group majoring in e-commerce, the summit organizing committee has also specially introduced a small number of discounted tickets, allowing them to access the most valuable content of the conference at minimal cost.
