However, our attempt to persuade Niu Wa failed—he ended up carrying his skis all the way back to Beijing and became the deserter.The weather on Qingming Festival was incredibly favorable. On the first morning at eight o’clock, it started snowing heavily, with big fluffy flakes quickly covering the ground. The snowfall was both heavy and intense.

Wanlong Ski Resort was very generous—during Qingming Festival, they reopened the previously closed West Area high-speed chairlift, allowing skiers to access the Hai Long Trail and Xue Long Trail in the West Area.
However, the heavy snowstorm only lasted for a while before turning into light rain below the intermediate trails and light snow above them.
On the second day of Qingming Festival, the weather was especially kind to die-hard skiers. It snowed lightly all day, and combined with the previous day’s sleet and snow, plus the overnight accumulation, there was a thick layer of fresh powder on the slopes. The ski tracks left earlier were quickly covered by the new snow. Skiers who came to Wanlong after following our live updates on Weibo were absolutely thrilled.

Skiers such as Hyde, Han Di, Two Halves, Crimson Mercenary, Jia Chen Flying, and Dragon Soaring
along with about twenty other familiar faces—including Voldemort, Jun Du Beard, Hong Hua Liang, YuerHE (Little H), Snow Drifter, Lark, San2013, and others who didn’t get a group photo—all had an amazing time skiing together.
The thick powder snow in the woods made it unbelievable that we could still venture deep into the forest at the end of the season.

On the third day of Qingming Festival, the last day of operation for Wanlong Ski Resort, the resort’s two snowcats were still hard at work. When we arrived around eight in the morning, we saw them grooming the intermediate trails and the Daben Tou area, continuing until after ten o’clock.

Our amazing three-day ski trip during Qingming Festival came to an end filled with reluctance. We’re grateful to nature for blessing us snow lovers with such wonderful powder, and to Wanlong Ski Resort for providing excellent service. After the season ends and we’ve waited for some time, we skiing enthusiasts will gather again, take on various resorts, exchange skills, and keep the joy of skiing going strong to the very end.
