Qiushi: Hiked from Hemu Village to Jiadengyu in Kanas. The scenery was absolutely stunning. The distance was 30 km, completed in one day. Can't say I had the coolest gear—what matters for a traveler is a good pair of shoes, mine were from Black Yak. The most luxurious gear was a string of Buddhist beads I got at the Ganden Sumtseling Monastery. Places near Xi'an suitable for hiking: 1. Lujiaoliang, 2. Dongfogou through Dongpinggou, or the watershed through the meadow, 3. For two days, definitely Taibai, where the sunrise from Baxiantai is the most beautiful.
Xitie Li U? Walked 3 km on a sunny day, looping around Xiangji Temple and Huxian. The forest path had a warm breeze, and the Huxian Qinqiang Opera Troupe set up a stage in the fields to perform. Villagers were there early, and there was lots of joy and laughter.
Seaside Stroll: I'm envious. Time is the biggest obstacle. I don’t have the time, though I do have a lot of gear.
Qin Feng Lu Yun: Jiawutai, Bingjingding, and alpine meadows are all great spots.
Chun Gu You Zi: Hehe. I love hiking and often go out alone whenever I have time. I remember the farthest I’ve gone in the past two years was starting from the Chang’an Campus of Shaanxi Normal University, heading south through Wangqu and Duqu to the Huanshan Road, then west straight to the Qinling Wildlife Park. The whole trip took over four hours. It was tiring but I broke a sweat and enjoyed the scenery along the way—it felt really great. I really enjoy that feeling. On April 4th, I borrowed my leader’s mountain bike and rode over 150 li westward along the Huanshan Road in wind and rain. Though I got completely soaked, I felt great. One word: “Awesome”!
Zhongnan Yidishui: I’m a pretty amateur traveler and haven’t been to many places. I think Dongliang is nice and worth visiting.
Lei Yird is me: My longest hike was during New Year’s, a four-day, three-night traverse of Taibai.
Feiyang Military VCAN: The farthest I’ve walked on my own was to take photos of a traditional house. I got off the bus from Ningqiang to Qingmuchuan and then walked all the way to Qingmuchuan. It took five hours. It was exhausting, but I felt great. Walking, looking, thinking, unwinding… seeing the world, clearing my mind.
