The Korean food craze is sweeping across Taiwan, but today we’re introducing Taipei’s only Korean izakaya (Japanese-style pub)! Located on Section 4, Civic Boulevard, Songshan District, “Oppa & Bar Korean Izakaya,” just a 6-minute walk from Exit 2 of Zhongxiao Dunhua MRT Station and right across from CTS, also offers ample parking—super convenient. This izakaya has a two-floor dining area: the first floor features Korean BBQ and a bar, while the basement is a bar combined with a VIP private lounge. If you’re looking to enjoy a range of creative Korean dishes and bar snacks, this is the place to be.
They offer a diverse menu with both à la carte options and set meals, and the dishes are updated regularly—new items appear from time to time to keep your taste buds excited. Privacy-loving guests can also reserve private rooms, ideal for parties and gatherings, with the minimum spend fully deductible from food and drink costs—so you get great value along with delicious food.
Oppa & Bar Korean Izakaya is located on Section 4, Civic Boulevard, Songshan District, Taipei, just a 6-minute walk from Exit 2 of Zhongxiao Dunhua MRT Station. There’s also a row of parking spaces right across from CTS, making it quite convenient for transportation.

Oppa & Bar Korean Izakaya not only serves authentic Korean BBQ but also combines a bar and private lounge, offering three distinct dining atmospheres in one spot. With two floors of space, the first floor is Korean BBQ and bar, while the basement houses a private lounge and VIP rooms—perfect for those who want privacy or are hosting any kind of gathering.

They also have a fun dart game here with a unique twist—if you hit the bullseye, drinks are on the house. But even if you miss, it makes for great entertainment or a party game. Especially after a few drinks, good luck hitting anything XD (Under 18s, please no alcohol)

The basement also features a large screen—great for sports fans or those who just want to enjoy the game. There’s also a projector available, making it perfect for group hangouts.

For larger groups, private rooms are available too. The minimum spend is NT$3,000 on weekdays and NT$10,000 on weekends, limited to 8 people. For more than 8 guests, it’s an additional NT$1,000 per person. Actually, it’s pretty good value. Next to the private room is an independent restroom—convenient and comfortable. We chose to sit in the sofa area outside the private room, where each table accommodates about four people, offering a spacious and cozy seating experience.

Check out their basement menu—it’s exclusive to the lower floor. In addition to à la carte options, you can also go for set meals for quicker ordering. Our group of four opted for the NT$3,999 four-person set meal, and the portions were actually quite generous.

They also offer a wide selection including pork belly, oysters, shrimp, chicken and vegetables, pancakes, Korean stews, fried chicken, egg rolls, tteokbokki, and more. They frequently update their menu, so you can always come back to try new dishes.

They serve a variety of drinks too—beer, Korean soju, Korean rice wine, cocktails, red wine, white wine, Japanese sake, whiskey, champagne, and more (Under 18s, please no alcohol).

There are also some fun drinking games here, perfect for groups (Under 18s, please no alcohol).
● ETtoday News Cloud reminds you: Don’t drink and drive. Don’t drive if you’ve been drinking.

One of the fun drinking games they prepare is perfect for groups. It’s simple and fun: you pour a shot (including rice wine, soju, liqueur, and kimchi juice) into the loser’s beer. If you accidentally get kimchi juice… well, let’s just say the taste gets interesting (Under 18s, please no alcohol).

They also have a variety of colorful and fun cocktails (Under 18s, please no alcohol).

They also serve some uniquely flavored cocktails that look really appealing (Under 18s, please no alcohol).

Ladies or those who don’t like strong alcohol can try fruity cocktails like Orange Sunrise (rice wine + orange juice, NT$150) or Berry Cranberry (soju + cranberry + Sprite, NT$150)—lightly sweet and sour, with low alcohol content, perfect for girls or anyone who doesn’t like heavy alcohol flavors (Under 18s, please no alcohol). Non-drinkers can also opt for soft drinks like Korean grape juice (NT$60), which actually has real grape bits—refreshing, sweet, and delicious.

They also provide a variety of dipping sauces (Korean vegetable sauce, sesame salt sauce, Thai-style chicken sauce), garlic, green chili, and lettuce to pair with your meal.

You definitely have to try their Oppa Three-Colored Fried Chicken (NT$560), which comes in three flavors: spicy sauce, yuzu, and black garlic. It comes with fried rice cakes and sweet potato fries—generous portions and absolutely delicious.

Here, you can also enjoy a fusion of Korean fried chicken and tteokbokki—it’s not just tasty, it crackles when you bite into it too.

The black garlic flavor has a subtle garlicky aroma with a mild sweet-salty taste and a rich fragrance—paired with juicy, tender fried chicken, it’s a perfect match. Korean fried chicken, as expected, has a hint of spice, sweet, and salty flavor, with a crispy outside and tender inside that everyone loves. Yuzu-flavored chicken has a refreshing fruity acidity that makes the chicken smoother and more enjoyable—especially great in summer. And of course, the tender, sweet chicken inside is a big plus.

The yuzu chicken pairs really well with the tteokbokki, which is chewy and has a lovely sweet-spicy-salty flavor—definitely a must-try for tteokbokki lovers. The sweet potato fries are coated in what seems like a layer of honey, super crispy and sweet—you just can’t stop eating them.

Next, let’s introduce their signature pancake dish. First up is the Half-Half Pancake (seafood + kimchi), which lets you enjoy two different fillings in one pancake, paired with a special dipping sauce that complements it perfectly. Their pancakes are impressively thick, stuffed with plenty of seafood and kimchi, and the combination of crispy outside and soft inside is so satisfying.

Their Jjajang Pancake is also a must-order. Cutting into it reveals a rich layer of black bean sauce inside—delicious and super flavorful. Remember to eat it while it’s hot for the best experience.

This next one is a personal favorite—super wicked and fun.

It’s a dart game where hitting the bullseye gets you your favorite drink. They pierce a small balloon filled with your chosen drink (like soju or beer), and when it pops, the drink sprays out in a cool way—but if you accidentally hit the chili pepper balloon, you’ll get a spicy surprise. But overall, it’s a fun and chill drinking game.

This delicious soup is an absolute must-order too. Although the spicy milk seafood hotpot looks bright red, it actually has a mild and soothing flavor that’s not at all spicy. Just one sip and you’ll fall in love!

%The soup contains clams, mushrooms, squid, shrimp, and leeks, all of which are super fresh.

%Grilled Triple-Cut Thick Pork Belly (360 TWD)
It comes with three flavors—curry, pesto, and barbecue—and the thick-cut pork belly isn’t greasy at all and is very flavorful!

%Whether grilled, pan-fried, or eaten as is, each style is super delicious. The pork is well-seasoned without being oily or tough, making it great whether you’re eating it on its own or pairing it with drinks. (Under 18? No drinking, please.)

%Spicy Inferno Rice Ball
This is also a really clever dish—not only is it tasty, but it’s perfect for pranking the birthday person. Two of them are said to be extremely spicy, and anyone unlucky enough to get one might be suffering for three days straight (shocking)!

%The rest of us didn’t get any spicy ones, which was probably for the best. The remaining four we shared among ourselves—their spicy rice balls were just the right size for one bite each. They had a spicy kick with a hint of sweetness, not overly hot, so everyone could enjoy them without worry.

%Evil Chicken Cutlet
That is, a chicken cutlet stuffed with kimchi and cheese, topped with a special sauce—it looks super naughty too.

%The Evil Chicken Cutlet is very rich in taste. Even though it’s a bit spicy from the kimchi, the balance with the cheese and the special sauce is just right. The cutlet is layered with a thin omelet, then the spicy chicken and cheese, making the flavors layered and even more delicious. It's quite a mouthful, but you can really taste all the different elements.

%Giant Prawn Attack
The restaurant uses super large grass shrimp, each one looking quite huge. Grilled with salt, they’re incredibly fragrant.

%Each shrimp is impressively large, and you can tell just by looking at them. When grilled with salt, the aroma is amazing. The simple salt-grilling method really brings out the flavor, and grilling them over charcoal helps lock in the aroma, keeping the taste fully within the shrimp meat. Once you take a bite, your mouth is filled with the rich, savory taste of the sea—it’s incredibly satisfying, full of flavor, and really delicious.

“Oppa & Bar Korean Izakaya” is not only the only Korean-style izakaya in all of Taipei, but it also combines the three dining atmospheres of Korean BBQ, bar, and private club. Paired with the popular MVs playing in-store and a diverse menu, it’s hard not to fall in love. The highlight is that their dishes are not only creative but also come in a wide variety with great flavors. For larger groups, you can even order set meals to try all the signature dishes at once—you’ll definitely leave full and satisfied. Also, the basement level is perfect for birthdays or all kinds of gatherings, big or small. There’s a pool table ready to go, plus various cocktail games. The facilities are great, and you can enjoy delicious food. As soon as people arrive, you can start having fun right away. Recommended for everyone—anyone interested should come try it out. I guarantee you’ll find it as memorable as I did.
