The current record of just over 38 minutes will be broken, with a reward of 10,000 yuan for any new record-holder

Themed "Beautiful China, Healthy You and Me," the National Mass Mountaineering Fitness Conference and the 13th Yongji Wulao Peak Mountaineering Festival will once again be held this year at Yongji Wulao Peak. Currently, preparations are in full swing, with an expected participation of 60 mountaineering speed competition teams from across the country. Those who break the mountaineering speed record will be awarded 10,000 yuan.

Having been held for twelve consecutive editions, the Yongji Wulao Peak Mountaineering Festival has become safer, smoother, and more spectacular with each passing year, establishing itself as a branded traditional sports event in our province. To ensure the success of this year’s event, officials from both the Yuncheng City and Yongji City governments and sports departments have visited the competition venue and the opening ceremony site of the Wulao Peak Mountaineering Festival to conduct on-site inspections, gain detailed insights, and further implement all necessary measures.

This edition of the Mountaineering Festival offers a rich and diverse range of activities, structured around four main segments: the Mountaineering Festival opening ceremony, speed competitions and award ceremonies, the “Charming Yongji” poetry and photography tour, and the Yellow River cultural exhibition, along with an environmental protection hiking activity. The festival will run through May 25.

The 13th Mountaineering Festival, to be held on April 25, features three events: men’s and women’s individual races, and a team race. The race route is as follows: Zhongyukou – Mountaineering Highway – Xiyu Mountain Gate – General’s Hat – Xiazhuangping Parking Lot – Mountaineering Steps – Xiaohongya – Dahongya – Lingfengguan Square. The total race distance is approximately 7.2 kilometers, and the previous best time was just over 38 minutes.
