Preface:
Hundred Peaks Outdoor advocates safe mountaineering and has launched a public welfare mountaineering training program called “Set Off with Knowledge.” The core teaching team is jointly formed by Hundred Peaks Outdoor Sports Co., Ltd., Yangshuo Rock Climbing School, Yangshuo Blackstone Club, Chengdu Nima Tribe, and Xiao Jin Trading Company by Elder Xu, along with support from many outdoor industry partners including the Four Girls Mountain Mountaineering School, Gore-Tex, Huawei Brand, and Yueyan Extreme. The climbing, ice climbing, and alpine mountaineering courses are co-taught by renowned climbing coach Zhang Yong (Protection Point), well-known climbing coach Tan Weiwei (Niuniu), CMDI alpine coach Zheng Zhaohui (Yunyunlang), CMDI climbing guide Bayue, Sichuan Mountaineering high-altitude support Xu Guihua (Elder Xu), and Sichuan Mountaineering high-altitude support Nima Xiangyang (Nima). The program offers 2–3 free public training sessions each year (no training fees), giving priority to outdoor clubs or enthusiasts interested in pursuing outdoor careers. Its goal is to promote rigorous mountaineering safety techniques and spread the concepts of outdoor safety and the spirit of alpine climbing.

The first public climbing training session was successfully concluded on December 3, 2012, and the second public ice climbing session ended successfully on January 1, 2013. Participants not only enjoyed the thrill of climbing but also mastered basic mountaineering safety knowledge and techniques, while exchanging climbing philosophies and personal experiences. It proved to be an excellent model for learning and improvement. We look forward to more outstanding coaches joining our teaching team and welcome those who can spare the time to support teaching. Those interested, please contact me.

This training session features three coaches: Xu Guihua (Elder Xu), Zheng Zhaohui (Yunyunlang), and Nima Xiangyang (Nima)
The Raveltik ice screws used for ice climbing are truly top-notch. Everyone agreed that they penetrate ice even more smoothly than BD ice screws, and after removal, the ice core falls out automatically — extremely impressive. The grip feels great, allowing full palm contact for better control, which fits ergonomic design principles. Later, they were also used during climbs in Baima, and the price is just as appealing.
