The Ministry of Human Resources and Social Security revealed yesterday that swimming, rock climbing, diving and others have been designated as China’s first batch of high-risk sports. To ensure the personal safety of the public participating in such activities, citizens are advised to enhance their self-protection awareness when engaging in these sports.
It is understood that the General Administration of Sport of China, the Ministry of Human Resources and Social Security, the State Administration for Industry and Commerce, the General Administration of Quality Supervision, Inspection and Quarantine, and the State Administration of Work Safety jointly issued the “Announcement on the First Batch of High-Risk Sports Projects Directory.” Relevant departments stated that, in order to implement the requirements of the “Regulations on National Fitness” regarding the management of high-risk sports business operations and to ensure the personal safety of participants, the first batch of high-risk sports projects has been announced with the approval of the State Council. The first batch includes swimming, alpine skiing, freestyle skiing, snowboarding, diving, and rock climbing.
According to the requirements, all operators and relevant departments of high-risk sports projects shall, in accordance with the “Regulations on National Fitness,” properly carry out the declaration and management of high-risk sports operations. For those already operating the listed high-risk sports projects prior to the issuance of this announcement, operators must prominently display this announcement at their business premises to inform consumers, and complete the necessary licensing procedures within six months of the announcement in accordance with relevant regulations.
