[Event Overview]
The China Beijing International Diving Exhibition (China Beijing International Dive Expo, abbreviated as CIDE) is the premier diving-themed exhibition on the Chinese mainland. The Beijing International Diving Exhibition serves as a commercial platform for global diving industry businesses to seek cooperation and expand their operations, an exchange and learning channel for diving enthusiasts to fully understand diving trends, and the most important platform for jointly discussing the development of the Chinese diving market. Building on the successful experience of the previous edition, the second CIDE-2013 opened at the China International Exhibition Center in Beijing on June 22. This edition will continue to strive to provide a trade and exchange platform for businesses in the diving industry to showcase their brands, seek business opportunities, and establish collaborations, as well as offer more diving information and learning opportunities for diving enthusiasts.
Like most emerging recreational sports industries, the diving industry in China is currently in a rapid development phase following its initial launch. With the improvement of urban residents' consumption levels in China, the diving sport has entered a stage of rapid growth. In 2010, only 5,000 international diving certification cards were issued in China, with training business revenue amounting to 0.2 billion yuan. However, with the emergence of domestic diving clubs and other training organizations that combine professional training with recreational functions, diving activities have gained wider popularity and promotion in China, and the number of diving enthusiasts willing to obtain international diving certifications has gradually increased. Since 2006, the Chinese diving tourism service market has maintained an average annual growth rate of 30%. In 2010, over 1.5 million tourists participated in trial dives, generating 450 million yuan in diving tourism service revenue, indicating huge market potential. The CIDE China Beijing International Diving Exhibition has become an indispensable key component of the Chinese diving industry and serves as an important trade platform for companies from various countries to enter the Chinese and Asian markets and establish international networks, further driving the development of the Chinese diving market.
The 2013 Annual Conference of the Chinese Underwater Sports Association is scheduled to be held grandly in Beijing in June. To promote the development of China's diving industry, the Annual Conference of the Chinese Underwater Sports Association will be held concurrently with CIDE 2013 — the two major industry resources in China’s diving sector joining forces to bring together operators of over 100 diving clubs across the country and numerous diving instructors to the CIDE exhibition site. Invitations are extended to diving clubs, tourism agencies, training institutions, companies, schools, and friendly individuals from both domestic and international diving communities to attend the event.

[Review of Previous Edition]CIDE 2012 Beijing International Diving Exhibition successfully concluded on June 20–22 at the China International Exhibition Center. Exhibiting brands included representatives from Tourism Malaysia, Sabah Tourism, Longyuan Diving, Sipadan Water Village Resort, MV Handy Cruise, Tasik Divers, Infinite Blue Diving, Tawali Resort, sea&sea, IST, TUSA, Aropec, Debei Diving, Xingguan Technology, Baohua Compressor, DAN, Kelikon, and Poseidon. CIDE 2012 attracted over 50 exhibitors from 15 countries and regions, showcasing nearly 100 brands, 68% of which were international. Over 6,000 professional visitors from more than 20 countries and regions attended, 26% of whom were overseas; among general attendees, over 21% were international. CIDE has become an effective platform for the full integration of China’s diving industry with the international diving market.
