Passengers who purchased the Samsung Galaxy Note7 should take note: due to multiple incidents of the Note7 catching fire or exploding,airlines including Qantas, Jetstar, and Virgin Australia have all announced a ban on charging Note7 phones on flights.
According to reports from international media, this regulation will apply to both Qantas domestic and international flights. A Qantas spokesperson stated that following Samsung’s recall of the Note7, the airline has required passengers not to turn on or charge their Note7 during flights. In addition to Australian airlines, the U.S. Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) is also considering contingency plans to potentially ban the Note7 from being brought on board after Samsung’s recall.
