On May 19, 2013, the domestic freestyle skiing jump (Big Air) competition was held with great excitement at the Jingzhi Lake Resort Hotel ski slope. World Cup freestyle skier Shinnosuke Kondo from abroad visited the Jingzhi Lake Resort Hotel ski slope to explain the basics to local skiing enthusiasts and provide training guidance.
It is understood that the Jingzhi Lake Resort Hotel (ski slope) in Beijing is currently the only place in the city where outdoor skiing can be experienced outside of winter. In 2012, the Jingzhi Lake Resort Hotel (ski slope) introduced the world’s latest “all-season snow” product from overseas, covering an area of 5,000 square meters. The “all-season snow” product feels very similar to natural snow while skiing, providing a venue for skiing experiences outside the snowy season. Additionally, due to its unique design, it helps enthusiasts correct mistakes and improve their skiing skills. More importantly, it is also an environmentally friendly product that significantly reduces water usage during artificial snowmaking in winter. When the ski slope is covered with “all-season snow,” less snow is needed to achieve better results in winter, helping maintain the condition and extend the lifespan of the slopes. Even when snow conditions are poor in winter, it ensures a good skiing experience while protecting skiing equipment from damage.

Unlike traditional square mats, the resort has introduced trapezoidal airbags, offering not just a new experience but more importantly, allowing skiers to slide down after landing, providing a cushioning effect. This greatly reduces potential risks for professional skiers and enthusiasts during training and is highly beneficial for improving jump techniques.

At 1:00 PM on May 19, Japanese freestyle skiing World Cup athlete Shinnosuke Kondo explained the basics to domestic skiing enthusiasts and provided training guidance. Kondo, an award-winning skier in global competitions such as the 2003 AU “Red Bull Rails” and the 2002 NZ “Ansell Big Air,” is a trainer and coach for the Freeski Camp Mogul and has participated in domestic and international competitions, as well as ski resort design and filming projects.
On-site, skiing enthusiasts enjoyed thrilling rides on the all-season snow, balancing speed and excitement under the sun. In the jump competition that tested courage and nerve, athletes wearing skis descended the inclined ramp, using speed and bounce to leap into the air, performing various maneuvers before landing on the mat. The competition was filled with exciting moments.
On the day of the competition, performances by the Jingzhi Lake Children’s Ski Team and trial runs of the “all-season snow” by other enthusiasts were also held. The Jingzhi Lake Children’s Ski Team, established in October 2012, consists of 21 members aged 3 to 6, making it the youngest ski team in China. The children have received training from professional coaches from Austria and Japan, and some members can already ski on double black diamond runs (the most challenging slopes in China).
The Jingzhi Lake Resort Hotel (ski slope) not only prepared a “Snow Elf” ski park for children but also offers various skiing lessons and winter/summer ski camps.
