On the morning of May 22, Deputy Secretary-General Song Lu of the Nanjing Municipal Government warmly received Mr. Jaeger, advisor to the Asia Outdoor and Asia Bike exhibitions, in the municipal government office. They had an in-depth discussion on the current status and prospects of the Asia Outdoor and Asia Bike exhibitions. Also present at the meeting were Director Yin Wen of the Nanjing Convention and Exhibition Office, Vice President Shen Ping of the China Council for the Promotion of International Trade Nanjing Sub-council, and Director Cheng Xiangyang of the Industry Division of the Nanjing Sports Bureau.
First, Deputy Secretary-General Song Lu of the Nanjing Municipal Government, on behalf of the municipal government, affirmed the achievements of the Asia Outdoor and Asia Bike exhibitions and expressed gratitude to Mr. Jaeger for introducing these two events. Since its inception in 2006, the Asia Outdoor exhibition has gone through eight years of development. Starting as a trade-focused event, it has continuously expanded its scope and gradually evolved into a professional exhibition that includes industry information exchange, brand image showcasing, and communication.It has become one of the leading international and professional outdoor product exhibitions in Asia.
Deputy Secretary-General Song Lu stated that Nanjing aims to become the third city named a “Bicycle City” by the Union Cycliste Internationale (UCI), following Melbourne and Copenhagen, by 2020. Currently, the Nanjing Cycling Association has been established and is working with the Nanjing Municipal Government to plan and develop five major cycling routes and 1,000 kilometers of urban greenways. This also serves as solid preparation for Nanjing to host international cycling events. The hosting of the Asia Bike exhibition aligns perfectly with Nanjing’s goal of becoming a bicycle-friendly city, complementing and reinforcing each other. “We hope these two exhibitions can be held in Nanjing on a long-term basis and continue to grow and improve,” said Deputy Secretary-General Song Lu. “The municipal government will provide full support for the future development of both exhibitions.”
