On May 31, Coleman, the largest outdoor recreation brand in the United States, along with the Canadian kindergarten “The Story of a Child,” gathered over 600 families at Beijing International Camping Park for a grand camping experience event that brought together more than 2,000 parents and children.
For the vast majority of kindergarten children, camping is a new concept, and tents hold an air of mystery. Being close to nature is what children desire most. Inside a tent, wandering across sunlit grass, smelling the fresh scent of greenery, listening to the chirping of insects, and letting childhood innocence run free—all add a splash of colorful memories to their early years. To this end, Coleman, a historic American brand with 112 years of legacy and a leader in global outdoor gear, which offers everything from lamps and stoves to coolers, foldable furniture, and airbeds, specially organized this event. It aimed not only to promote bonding between parents and children but also to nurture various skills in the kids.
Through close interaction with nature, children can enhance both physical and mental growth through play, exploration, and discovery. Contact with plants and animals teaches them to respect life, while playing with peers helps them learn understanding and communication—slowly fostering a grateful heart in return for their parents’ love.
During the event, we interviewed participating parents and children. We learned that upon hearing they would be camping with their kids to celebrate Children’s Day, both parents and children were overjoyed and full of anticipation. Many children could hardly sleep, eagerly waiting for this exciting moment to arrive. Young mothers expressed great satisfaction with the family-friendly activity and hoped to take part in more such events in the future.
