During outdoor cycling, protecting your eyes is crucial, which is why cyclists often choose cycling glasses for eye protection. However, while cycling glasses do offer protection, they can also encounter some“issues”that may reduce their functionality, so it’s important to maintain them. So how should you maintain your cycling glasses??
Putting on and taking off the glasses: Always use both hands to hold the temple arms and put on or take off the glasses parallel to your cheeks. Using one hand may disrupt the balance of the frame and cause deformation.
If the glasses feel too tight or loose during wear, or if screws become loose, it may be due to frame deformation. This can put strain on your nose or ears, and the lenses may also become loose. It is recommended to have them regularly adjusted and realigned by a professional.
Do not use them during intense sports: Resin lenses may shatter upon strong impact, which could cause injury to your eyes or face. It is advised not to use them during high-intensity activities.
Do not use scratched lenses: Avoid using lenses that are scratched, stained, or cracked, as these can cause light diffusion, resulting in blurred vision and potential vision deterioration.
Do not look directly at the sun or bright light even if the lenses have varying color intensities: Doing so may harm your eyes.
Folding the frame: Always start folding from the left side. Most frames are designed to fold starting from the left temple arm. Folding the right side first may easily deform the frame.
How to place them down: If you need to temporarily place your glasses down, make sure the convex side faces upward. Placing them with the convex side down may scratch the lenses.
