The first HowToTrip Online Marketing Seminar for Tourism Inns, co-organized by HowToTrip and DuoDuo Stations, will officially commence at 2:00 PM on June 25, 2013, at Gulangyu Villa Hotel in Xiamen. At the event, Miao Wan’er, CEO of HowToTrip, will join seasoned tourism market experts and online marketing professionals to discuss topics such as accurately understanding traveler needs, enhancing the competitive edge of inns, and selecting appropriate online promotion channels under the theme “Sharing Smart Strategies with Innkeepers, Creating Success Together with HowToTrip.” The seminar will also provide in-depth analysis and answers to potential issues in the current tourism inn market, ultimately aiming to establish mutually beneficial strategic policies.
From package tours to independent travel, from chain hotels to unique inns, traveler demands are evolving, and so must the direction of the market. As the largest Chinese-language independent travel service platform to date, HowToTrip has been committed for seven years, together with DuoDuo Stations, to providing and sharing the latest travel information, the most distinctive independent travel routes, the most detailed travel guides, and the most cost-effective youth hostels and inns for nearly 3 million HowToTrip members. In recent years, as the proportion of independent travel in the tourism industry continues to rise, the number of inns and hostels has grown rapidly. As of May 2013, DuoDuo Stations had surpassed 30,000 registered merchants, receiving an average of 5,000 orders per day.
As a leading destination with a trendy appeal, Xiamen maintains a top position among free independent travel (FIT) cities, and its standing has become even more solid in recent years. According to statistics, during the 2013 Spring Festival and Labor Day holidays, Xiamen welcomed 1.4589 million and 724,600 domestic and international tourists respectively, representing year-on-year increases of 18.39% and 20.5%. In terms of accommodation, the average actual occupancy rate of hotels increased by 1 percentage point, while that of inns and guesthouses rose by 11.2 percentage points—10 percentage points higher than hotels—indicating that travelers’ personalized demands have spurred rapid growth in both the quantity and uniqueness of local inns. Faced with a proliferation of new inns and an overwhelming array of online marketing methods, how can one effectively enhance competitive advantage? How to choose the right online promotion channels? HowToTrip has the answers—and the time to act is now.
