On the morning of June 13, the Naming Ceremony of the “Yangyuan・Six Walnuts” Cup 2013・Hengshui Lake International Marathon, the 100-Day Countdown Launch, and the Oath-Taking Assembly were held at Hengshui Municipal Square. Key leaders from the municipal Party committee, People’s Congress, government, and CPPCC, as well as relevant leaders of the organizing committee, attended the event. Approximately 1,500 people were present, including heads of member units of the organizing committee, conveners and members of various working groups, volunteers, and media from both within and outside the province.

At the scene, 11 teams composed of representatives from the Binhu New District, Jizhou City, Taocheng District, Urban Management Bureau, Water Affairs Bureau, Commerce Bureau, Public Security, Transportation Bureau, Health Bureau, volunteers, and Yangyuan Company, dressed in uniform attire, stood in formation with great enthusiasm to welcome the start of the “two ceremonies and one meeting” for the 2013 marathon. At 8:30 AM, under the chairmanship of Ding Xiufeng, Standing Deputy Mayor of the Hengshui Municipal Committee, the organizing committee signed an agreement with the naming sponsor. Subsequently, relevant units of the event made statements regarding security, traffic order, vehicle support and services, urban sanitation improvements, market regulation, and urban construction. Yang Hui, Mayor of Hengshui City and Director of the Organizing Committee, delivered a speech, emphasizing that all units must focus on the goal of creating a gold-standard event, carry out their responsibilities, prioritize key tasks, strengthen measures, accelerate progress, and ensure the successful completion of all preparatory work. Finally, Li Qian, Secretary of the Hengshui Municipal Committee, touched the crystal ball to launch the 100-day countdown plaque for the 2013・Hengshui Lake International Marathon.
It is reported that this year’s Hengshui Lake International Marathon is the second edition, scheduled to take place on September 21, 2013. The event will feature three categories: full marathon, half marathon, and mini marathon. Compared to last year, the scale is larger and the number of participants has increased. CCTV will once again provide full live coverage. The marathon holds significant political importance and international impact in enhancing Hengshui’s positive city image and promoting sound economic and social development.
