The world’s first flying car now available for purchase.
Stuck in traffic and wishing you could sprout wings to soar over the “sea of cars” ahead? That dream has now become a reality. According to a report by the Daily Mail yesterday, the world’s first flying car has been unveiled, priced at £600,000.
The report states that the vehicle was first developed back in 1946 by inventor Moulton Molt Taylor, who designed it from the ground up as a flying car. The first prototype was completed three years later, making it the world’s first road-legal flying car.
Now, over 60 years later, this two-seater car can fly at speeds of up to 110 mph (approximately 177 km/h) at an altitude of around 3,660 meters (12,000 feet), while also being capable of reaching speeds of up to 60 mph (nearly 100 km/h) on the road.
Additionally, this two-seater “flying car” can transform between modes in just 10 minutes. Built in the 20th century, it was one of the earliest five “flying cars” of its time and remains fully functional today.
