Huangshan Scenic Area tickets are divided into peak and off-peak seasons. During the off-peak season, from December 1st to the end of February of the following year, the full ticket price is 115 RMB per person, and the cable car is 65 RMB per person one way. During the peak season, which is the rest of the year, the Huangshan ticket is 230 RMB per person and the cable car is 80 RMB per person one way.    To all self-driving travelers, independent travelers, hikers, and outdoor enthusiasts coming to Huangshan, let us be clear: whether you're staying at hotels at the foot of the mountain or booking through travel agencies across the country, no one can get any discounts on Huangshan Scenic Area tickets or cable car tickets. Occasionally, Huangshan Tourism Co., Ltd. may launch various marketing strategies to promote Huangshan, during which conditional discounts may be offered — such as requiring a certain place of ID or celebrating meaningful occasions. Other than that, the only discounts come from Huangshan’s official incentive policies. Huangshan offers free entry to those holding a national tour guide certificate (IC card), regardless of whether they are leading a group — anyone with a valid tour guide card gets free admission, but not free cable car rides. Please note: a tour guide qualification certificate is not the same as a tour guide certificate.
    Discounts for Special Groups
    (I) Categories and Groups Eligible for Half-Price Discounts
    1. Youth (children, students, minors): individuals aged between 6 years old (excluding) and 18 years old (including), and full-time university undergraduates and below.
    2. Seniors: individuals aged 60 years old (including) to 70 years old (excluding).
    3. Active-duty military personnel and retired military cadres.
    4. National moral models, national heroes and role models, and provincial/ministerial-level labor models or above.
    5. Disabled persons (holding disability certificates issued by the China Disabled Persons’ Federation, grades 5 to 10).
    6. Teachers (only valid during July and August, upon presentation of their original teaching qualification certificate).
The above groups visiting Huangshan can enjoy a 50% discount on the peak-season ticket price of the Huangshan Scenic Area, i.e., 115 RMB per ticket, by presenting valid original documents proving their special group status. (Minors between 1.2m and 1.4m tall receive a 50% discount, i.e., 40 RMB per ticket, when riding the Yungu, Yuping, or Taiping cable cars at Huangshan.)
    (II) Categories and Groups Eligible for Free Entry
    1. Minors: children aged 6 years old (including) or under, or those 1.2m (including) tall or shorter (accompanied by a guardian), are exempt from Huangshan Scenic Area admission fees; children 1.2m or shorter are also exempt from Yungu, Taiping, and Yuping cable car fees.
    2. Seniors: individuals aged 70 years old (including) or above are exempt from Huangshan Scenic Area admission fees.
    3. Individuals holding disability certificates (grades 1 to 4) issued by the China Disabled Persons’ Federation are exempt from Huangshan Scenic Area admission fees.
    4. Journalists coming to Huangshan for reporting purposes, upon presentation of proof from the Huangshan Administration Committee authorities and their original journalist certificates issued by the General Administration of Press and Publication of the People's Republic of China, are exempt from Huangshan Scenic Area admission fees.
    5. Members of photography associations: members of internationally recognized national photography associations (including Hong Kong, Macau, and Taiwan), members of the China Photographers Association, and members of provincial-level photography associations (specifically ×× Provincial Photographers Association) who come to Huangshan for photography creation, upon presentation of valid ID and original membership certificates, are exempt from Huangshan Scenic Area and Yungu, Yuping, and Taiping cable car fees.
    Those eligible for free admission must present valid original documents proving their special group identity in order to enjoy related exemptions for Huangshan Scenic Area tickets and cable car fares.
    Many people are probably most concerned about student IDs — for example, whether postgraduates qualify, or if night school or correspondence course students also get discounts. The answer is quite clear: postgraduates are not undergraduates or below, and night or correspondence schools are not full-time institutions. Therefore, they are not eligible for discounts. Some may ask whether the checks are really that strict. In fact, Huangshan is among the top in China in terms of enforcing these policies, though not entirely without exceptions. You could try your luck — if it doesn’t work, you can always buy the ticket afterward.
    Additionally, at the three ticket windows in Huangshan, you can pay for both entrance tickets and cable car tickets using a card, including credit cards.
