Last updated 2026-09-25 — In 2013, the Asia Outdoor Trade Show timely introduced an E-commerce Negotiation Area during this edition of the show, providing a professional platform for brands and online sales platforms to connect.

It has been reported that in 2012, China's online apparel market reached a transaction volume of 305 billion yuan, marking a year-on-year growth of 49.9%. Among these, outdoor product transactions amounted to approximately 2.25 billion yuan, with an annual growth rate exceeding an astonishing 190%.

Since 2010, China’s online sales market has flourished, and outdoor businesses generally view this emerging channel favorably. When facing the online sales market, outdoor brands must acknowledge its astonishing distribution speed, yet they also worry that online platforms may disrupt the existing balance of their physical retail channels.

Precisely for these reasons, the development of China’s outdoor products in the online sales market lags slightly behind other fast-moving consumer goods. Data from a well-known B2C platform shows that most domestic well-known outdoor brands only began actively developing their online sales platforms in the second half of 2012. By the first half of 2013, most top-tier brands had completed the framework for cooperation with online sales platforms. However, data also indicates that due to various constraints, cooperation between brands and online sales platforms still needs further strengthening and improvement, and a comprehensive cooperation model has yet to be fully established.

In light of these market trends, the 2013 Asia Outdoor Trade Show timely introduced an E-commerce Negotiation Area during this edition of the show, creating a professional platform for brands and online sales platforms. This allows both sides to communicate, negotiate, and collaborate efficiently in a short time, providing outdoor brands with a new channel interface and offering online sales platforms access to the most professional outdoor brands, thereby promoting the development of the online sales channel for China’s outdoor industry.

To this end, the show has also arranged for several online platforms, including JD.com, to deliver presentations in Meeting Room B02 on the exhibition site from 13:00 to 13:40 on the afternoon of July 25 during the forum, introducing emerging online channels and new media to the industry, deepening mutual understanding, and fostering collaboration.
