The "1969 Blue Sky Hotel," built with an investment of hundreds of millions of dollars, is located on the site of a former building owned by the Taichung City Chamber of Commerce. Due to long-term vacancy, after negotiations, the operator acquired the property and renovated it in 2014. They also specially invited Master Zhang Xing, who designed the famous Gaotai Eye Hospital, to plan out the "Blue Sky style" seen today.
