On July 1, Zhengzhou held a unique "Enjoying Zhengzhou Travel" tourism promotion event in our city. Two promoters engaged the audience through an interactive Q&A format centered around four themes: "truly fun," "truly relaxing," "truly convenient," and "truly worthwhile" when visiting Zhengzhou. The session was enriched with videos, audio, images, and other media to guide participants on an in-depth experience of Zhengzhou’s long history, splendid culture, profound art, exquisite Shaolin Kung Fu, and a city environment ideal for both travel and leisure.
Zhengzhou is known as the "Center of Heaven and Earth Capital of Kung Fu." It borders the Yellow River to the north and leans against Songshan Mountain to the west. It is a member of the League of Historical Cities, a National Civilized City, one of China’s first outstanding tourist cities, a National Historical and Cultural City, one of China’s Eight Ancient Capitals, a National Sanitary City, and a National Garden City. As the cradle of ancient Chinese civilization and one of the earliest settlements of the Chinese nation, Zhengzhou served as the capital of the early Shang Dynasty over 3,600 years ago. Today, Zhengzhou is the core city of the Central Plains Economic Zone, and the Zhengzhou Airport Economy Comprehensive Experimental Zone is China’s first pioneering zone for airport economic development.
Zhengzhou boasts abundant tourism resources. Mount Song, one of China’s Five Great Mountains, is among the world’s first global geoparks, a national forest park, and a national scenic area. The "Center of Heaven and Earth" historical architectural complex is a UNESCO World Heritage Site with significant international influence. Shaolin Temple and its Kung Fu have become one of China’s most renowned cultural icons. Huangdi’s Hometown is the birthplace, entrepreneurial base, and capital city of Xuanyuan Huangdi, the humanistic ancestor of the Chinese nation, and also a sacred site for global Chinese people to seek their roots. Zhengzhou lies at the boundary between the middle and lower reaches of the Yellow River, where the river becomes vast and majestic—Yellow River scenery is one of Zhengzhou’s most influential tourism brands. "Shaolin Zen Music Ceremony" is a well-known brand in Chinese cultural tourism and was praised by IOC President Jacques Rogge as a project that could "win an Olympic gold medal." The Henan Museum is one of China’s three major museums. The Kangbaiwan Manor is one of China’s three great landlord estates, hailed as the homeland of the “Living God of Wealth.” Nearby, Mount Yuntai is a global geopark and one of China’s popular tourist destinations. The Qingming Riverside Landscape Garden recreates the prosperity of Dongjing, the capital of the Northern Song Dynasty. As the core city of the Central Plains Economic Zone, urban sightseeing tours represented by the Zhengzhou New District are gradually becoming a new type of attraction sought after by tourists, drawing significant attention from the tourism industry.
A spectacular performance of the Shaolin Kung Fu routine, Baduanjin, brought the promotion event to a climax; the Zen music performance from "Shaolin Zen Music Ceremony" created a refreshing and uplifting atmosphere. The event also featured a Weibo topic interaction lottery via QR codes, with the promotion team preparing a rich array of prizes for winners, including tickets to representative attractions such as the Songshan Zhongyue Scenic Area, Kangbaiwan Manor, "Shaolin Zen Music Ceremony," Central Plains Tower, and Green Expo Garden.
