On June 20, 2013, the "Enjoy the Outdoors" themed lecture was held in the auditorium of Beijing Institute of Fashion Technology. Attendees included the President and Secretary-General of the China Textile Association, Li Shuqiang, Deputy General Manager of Osprey Outdoor Equipment, and Zheng Rong, President of Beijing Institute of Fashion Technology, as well as lecturer Zhou Shaoen. The lecture comprehensively elaborated on the outdoor spirit of enjoying sports and its development trends. By analyzing the characteristics and development of current outdoor activities, it clearly pointed out the inevitability of participating in outdoor sports, and innovatively proposed the future goal of making outdoor sports a new trend.
This meeting was hosted by Teacher Zhou Shaoen, with the lecture theme "enjoy the outdoors" introduced by Mr. Li Shuqiang. The lecture covered four aspects: the background and characteristics of outdoor sports, the reasons for engaging in them, the necessity of outdoor gear, and the future development of the outdoor sports market. Based on the characteristics of outdoor sports—physical foundation, teamwork, comprehensive science, returning to nature, simplicity, self-challenge, and potential stimulation—the lecture further analyzed Maslow's hierarchy of needs, concluding that the pursuit of health is the most fashionable trend today. Self-actualization sits at the top of the pyramid, and with societal trends, the true essence of outdoor sports also lies in finding oneself.
Teacher Li Shuqiang provided a detailed analysis and explanation of outdoor gear categories and specific products, dividing outdoor equipment into two main types: hardware and software. In addition, he vividly illustrated the necessity of outdoor gear and the importance of gear selection through a compelling water-drop test, emphasizing the comfort and safety performance of outdoor products. While summarizing and analyzing outdoor gear, Teacher Li Shuqiang objectively and deeply assessed the current development of outdoor sports both domestically and internationally and predicted the future market, insightfully concluding that outdoor sports will become a new market trend. Finally, students actively participated by asking questions, and Teacher Li Shuqiang highly praised their abilities and concluded by stating that outdoor sports are a process of finding and realizing oneself.
For this lecture, the school actively coordinated curriculum discussions and activity planning. Together with the attending guests and students, the school embodied the spirit of "harmonious diversity and unity of knowledge and action," effectively promoting outdoor sports culture. The lecture concluded successfully amid warm applause.
