What’s your reason for falling in love with running? Is it to lose weight? To relieve stress? Or, like the person below, to improve your physical health through exercise.
Mr. Li, who lives in Tianjin, is 43 years old and an avid runner. He has worked in the public security system for over a decade, and because he spends long hours at his desk every day handling large amounts of work, he often experienced soreness in his cervical spine. So, starting in 2010, he decided to take up running to improve his health. At first, he ran just for fun, without thinking too much about it. Gradually, running not only improved his physical condition but also became a habit. Mr. Li says that nowadays, whenever he has time, he definitely goes out for a run.
Calling himself an "amateur running enthusiast," Mr. Li has always paid close attention to information about various marathon events. Although he hasn’t joined any running groups, he has never fallen behind and can be seen at many marathon races. In 2012, as usual, Mr. Li was browsing marathon event information online when the novel theme of "Challenge 8 Hours," which combines sports with charity, immediately caught his attention. After learning more about the event, he didn’t hesitate to sign up at his own expense. In the 2012 "Challenge 8 Hours," Mr. Li completed the 40-kilometer course in 5 hours, 55 minutes, and 48 seconds, achieving an impressive sixth-place finish. This year, not only did Mr. Li sign up early to participate, but he also enthusiastically volunteered to join our track experience segment from Tianjin. When it came to fundraising, Mr. Li gave a simple and endearing answer: "I was a bit embarrassed to ask for donations back then. I always felt I wasn’t running well enough or doing enough."
