The power of furry friends is sweeping the globe, with cat- and dog-friendly restaurants and hotels popping up like mushrooms. Now, the iconic London Underground has also become a hot topic recently. According tothe Lonely Planet website, the Clapham Common station in the UK has even replaced 60 lightboxes with photos of stray cats.
Commercial ads often flood cities, but the atmosphere in these lightbox spaces is surprisingly warm and inviting. This is a civic advertisement, part of a fundraising project by The Citizens Advertising Takeover Service (C.A.T.S), aimed at promoting animal adoption.

These adorable cats are all locals—some are even pets. The campaign hopes that while commuters are riding the Tube, they’ll take a moment away from commercial ads to reflect on something more meaningful in life. The exhibition runs for two weeks.
