Introduction to the Mountaineering Friends Rescue Team
The Xinjiang Mountaineering Friends Rescue Team was established in 2003. It currently has over 100 official members in the Urumqi headquarters rescue team, 12 rescue teams in various cities and prefectures across Xinjiang, and more than 200 members in total. Most of the members of the Urumqi headquarters come from key leaders of outdoor clubs in Urumqi and hold outdoor leader certification.
In 2009, the Xinjiang Mountaineering Friends Rescue Team received a flag from the Autonomous Region Volunteers Association and became the "Xinjiang Volunteers Association Directly Affiliated Mountain Rescue Volunteer Brigade," with all team members joining the Xinjiang Volunteers Association. In 2010, it joined the One Foundation Rescue Alliance and became one of the six core rescue teams nationwide under the "One Foundation Rescue Alliance." In 2012, it received a flag from the Autonomous Region People's Government and became the "Xinjiang Earthquake Rescue Volunteer Team."
