The 2013 “Challenge 8 Hours” Charity Hiking & Trail Running Event is jointly organized by the China Youth Development Foundation and the Hebei Youth Development Foundation, sponsored by Perfect (China) Co., Ltd., and co-organized by the Hong Kong Operation Blessing, Ci Media, and the People’s Government of Luanping County. It aims to harness the power of walking to help rural children enjoy reading and growing up happily, mobilize widespread social support to raise funds, gather more love, and fulfill the reading dreams of rural children.

On September 8, 2012, the “Challenge 8 Hours” event was successfully held in Yanqing, Beijing, receiving support and praise from all sectors of society. This year, the event will continue to uphold its charitable philosophy, with proceeds going toward the “Project Hope Happy Reading” program in rural primary schools in Ya’an, Sichuan, Hebei, and Yunnan.
The smooth running of “Challenge 8 Hours” would not be possible without the support of all sectors of society, especially the many enthusiastic participants who have provided us with valuable feedback. Mr. He is one of them.
Mr. He participated in the 2012 “Challenge 8 Hours.” After the event, he suggested to the organizing committee that future events include a family category, allowing children to take part as well—helping to build their resilience while increasing interaction with their parents. More importantly, it allows children to learn to help and care for others from an early age. The organizers carefully considered and adopted Mr. He’s suggestion. This year, the “Challenge 8 Hours” has specially added a 13.5-kilometer “Family Group” parent-child adventure. In addition, the organizing committee will also organize quality expansion activities on-site for the family group, encouraging interaction between local Hope Primary School students and participating families.
Here, the “Challenge 8 Hours” organizing committee introduces details about the family group, hoping to gain attention and support from families.
