The 15th “Beijing Hope Marathon – A Charity Run to Raise Funds for Cancer Patients and Cancer Research” will take place at 9:00 AM on September 28 in the Wanren Square of Beijing’s Chaoyang Park.

According to the press conference held on the 21st, this year’s Hope Marathon will carry the theme of “Uniting Love, Creating Miracles,” and will include various activities such as a charity run, an Olympic champion leading the race, a sign language performance of “Dedication of Love,” an exhibition of informative images on cancer prevention, and a charity sale.

Data provided by the Cancer Hospital of the Chinese Academy of Medical Sciences shows that cancer in China is showing a clear trend of increasing incidence and affecting younger people.

To date, the Beijing Hope Marathon has been successfully held for fifteen years, raising over ten million yuan in total to help underprivileged cancer patients and support the cause of cancer prevention and research in China.

It is understood that the Beijing Hope Marathon has established a “Special Fund for Early Diagnosis and Treatment of Cancer Patients,” which has subsidized 287 individuals since 2010. In addition, it has funded more than 540 clinical research projects, which have conducted systematic studies on the diagnosis, treatment, and prevention of various types of tumors. The research findings have provided a scientific basis for practical clinical applications in oncology.

The marathon event this year has renowned singer Wei Wei serving as the ambassador for cancer care.
